This assembly kit creates a special Black Edition of the legendary Egress R/C buggy, which originally took the world by storm after its 1989 debut, and was then given a further update in 2013. As the name implies, its color scheme is distinctly black-based, with dampers and front uprights switched to dark titanium anodized finishes, and the six-spoke wheels molded in silver to match a body to be painted black. Shaft-driven 4WD chassis with carbon components This shaft-driven 4WD chassis features a longitudinally-positioned motor and full ball bearings, while carbon fiber upper and lower decks ensure that the model has superb rigidity. Front and rear ball differentials offer excellent reliability and easy maintenance, working in tandem with the built-in center one-way to provide sure-footed movement, and the one-way can be locked if desired. Universal drive shafts feature the same design as those used in TRF series parts, in order to maximize transmission efficiency and minimize wear and tear. 4-wheel double wishbone suspension is supported by four oil dampers equipped with aluminum cylinders, while the front and rear of the model are fitted with stabilizers. The prominent figure of the R/C car boom was the Buggy Champ which was first released in 1979. Tamiya is now proud to re-release the Buggy Champ to celebrate the car's 30thyear anniversary. The chassis has been finely tuned while maintaining the original features of the chassis such as the unique front double trailing arms and rear torsion suspension.R/C fans' hearts will definitely race when they see the nostalgic form and relive the dynamic performance of this machine. Description The Buggy Champ, which started the "Buggy Boom" when it was released in 1979, now comes back as a new and improved version. It keeps true to the basic layout of the original while incorporating modern improvements and features many refined parts that are reproduced with newly built metal moldings. The Buggy Champ also features a transparent mechanism box which protects the mechanics and battery and comes with grooved front and rear tires with block tread pattern. A realistic body is molded in white polystyrene and can be painted with plastic model paints. The Buggy Champ surely brings back the memories of the good old days when everyone was excited with its aggressive driving performance. About the Chassis: The chassis features a 2mm thick FRP plate with an aluminum reinforcing plate for strength and flexibility to ensure stability. 4-wheel independent suspension features front double trailing arm and rear swing axle setups, die-cast suspension arms, and oil dampers. Electronics and main battery are protected by a durable clear plastic mechanism box.
