The 1997 911 GT1 race car is a classic R/C model in the Tamiya catalog of assembly kits. Originally released as the Le Mans race car replica, this kit recreates the “street legal” car that was released for homologation purposes. This replica returns on the TA03R-S chassis, which is a short wheelbase variant of Tamiya's highly successful and fun TA-03 4WD touring car. The actual car debuted in 1996, and was a “street” car with an extremely strong racing heritage – powered by a 3.1-liter inline-six rear-mid engine generating nearly 600hp, it was said to reach speeds of up to 330km/h. The body sits on top the easy to build TT-02B chassis for fun off-road driving! Shaft-Driven 4WD TT-02B The shaft-driven 4WD TT-02B buggy chassis uses a skid-shaped frame. Its suspension setup uses 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension with long arms, plus CVA shock units, giving the car assured handling, while left and right suspension arms and uprights are identical to facilitate hassle-free assembly. Front and rear gearboxes include 4-bevel differentials for smooth operation, and are sealed to ensure that dust can't get inside. The top can be removed simply by loosening four screws, making maintenance a breeze. Four different gear ratios can be applied with the use of three separately-sold types of pinion gears, allowing you to match the characteristics of your car setup to the conditions at any given time. This assembly kit creates a special Black Edition of the legendary Egress R/C buggy, which originally took the world by storm after its 1989 debut, and was then given a further update in 2013. As the name implies, its color scheme is distinctly black-based, with dampers and front uprights switched to dark titanium anodized finishes, and the six-spoke wheels molded in silver to match a body to be painted black.   Shaft-driven 4WD chassis with carbon components This shaft-driven 4WD chassis features a longitudinally-positioned motor and full ball bearings, while carbon fiber upper and lower decks ensure that the model has superb rigidity. Front and rear ball differentials offer excellent reliability and easy maintenance, working in tandem with the built-in center one-way to provide sure-footed movement, and the one-way can be locked if desired. Universal drive shafts feature the same design as those used in TRF series parts, in order to maximize transmission efficiency and minimize wear and tear. 4-wheel double wishbone suspension is supported by four oil dampers equipped with aluminum cylinders, while the front and rear of the model are fitted with stabilizers. Aluminum front uprights offer excellent reliability, and ball bearings in steering linkage arms combine with 2mm thick carbon fiber plate to offer a linear steering response.
