Tips for Maintaining Old Ball Bearing: By removing the old bearing oil, it will reduce the friction in the bearing, thus making RC car run faster. Below are some tips in cleaning the ball bearings. Preparation: High Speed Bearing Oil / Lube (#YA-0215) Universal Cleaning Case (#YA-0223) Aluminum Bearing Inner Size Measurer For 2-14mm (#YT-0021) Step 1: Cleaning Soak the ball bearings with volatile degreaser (i.e. brake cleaner) / apply motor spray on them. Step 2: Shake & Soak Shake the bearing case vigorously to remove dirt. It will loosen and remove the dirt trapped inside the bearings. Soak the bearings for another 15-30 minutes. Repeat the process until the oil / liquid is clean. Step 3: Drying Step 4: Re-greasing Dry the ball bearing with hot air gun / hair blower to prevent rusting of the bearing. Apply light oil on the bearings, give it about 20 minutes to penetrate the seals and then clean the outsides up. Finish: Bearing Testing Tool: This tool can test the smoothness of the bearing. Put the bearing on the tool and turn the bearing to check its smoothness. If the bearing does not turn smoothly, then it¡¦s time to get a new one. RPM 70982 - Front Bumper & Skid Plate for Traxxas Sledge Quick Notes: Includes a longer and wider skid plate Front bumper width is 6-3/4″ (171.5mm) wide Replaces the bumper and skid plate from stock Traxxas #9535 he RPM Front Bumper and Skid Plate for the Traxxas Sledge is a unique design that works with the Sledge’s body mounting mechanism. Traxxas designed the body mounting system to move forward instead of rearward. Because it moves forward by well over 1” (25mm), it severely limits bumper design. However, RPM engineers found a way to incorporate a fully functioning bumper with this unique body mounting system. How did we do it? First, we eliminated the stock bumper and replaced it with a hinge pin retainer, since realistically, that’s all the stock bumper really is. Next, we eliminated the stock skid plate in favor of a wider, longer and more protective skid. Lastly, we bolted a unique bumper to the front of the skid plate. Our system sits below the body, which allows the body mounting system full range of motion, yet the Sledge finally has some tough, RPM front end protection. Each component is molded in black from our exclusive blend of engineering grade nylons for unmatched strength and durability. All RPM molded products are made in the USA and backed by our limited lifetime warranty against breakage. Tech Notes: The RPM Front Bumper and Skid Plate is designed specifically for the Traxxas Sledge and replaces the bumper and skid plate from stock Traxxas #9535.
