Many Traxxas electric vehicles have a motor that is dangerously exposed to impacts and damage from rear impacts or collisions. Our new rear Motor Protector eliminates that problem! How did we solve it? We started with an RPM rear bumper mount / wheelie bar mount (RPM #80902 or #80905) and extended the reach with this simple add-on piece, which completely blocks the motor from most rear impacts. A stock Traxxas rear bumper mount / wheelie bar mount – Traxxas #3677 – can be used with this motor protector as well.

Traxxas Slash owners running in the unlimited class or those that simply want to drop a huge amount of rear end weight can eliminate the stock rear bumper and mount the RPM Motor Protector in place of the stock bumper to prevent damage to the end-bell and motor.

For the ultimate in rear end protection, a second motor protector can be bolted to the opposite side of the rear bumper mount / wheelie bar mount (gear cover side) to help protect the gears and gear cover from extreme rear-end impacts.

The RPM motor protector can be used on any vehicle that can run the Traxxas #3677 rear bumper mount / wheelie bar mount including the Bandit, e-Stampede, e-Rustler & Slash as well as a number of Traxxas legacy models. Our Motor Protector is molded from our ultra-durable blend of nylons and is backed by our limited lifetime warranty.

Tech Notes: Images show both the motor protector and transmission mount (sold separately). To use the RPM Motor Protector in conjunction with a Slash 2wd rear bumper or Traxxas wheelie bar, please see “Tips” below. With included hardware, it must be used in place of either the bumper or wheelie bar. A Traxxas rear bumper mount / wheelie bar mount (Traxxas #3677) or an RPM rear bumper / wheelie bar mount (RPM #80902 or #80905) must be installed prior to installing the RPM Motor Protector (not included).

Slash Tips: Thanks to RPM customer Reed S. for this tip on how to use our Motor Protector in conjunction with a stock Slash 2wd rear bumper. Using the spacers shown in the photo of the parts tree below, slip the spacers in place of the stock shoulder crews that attach the stock bumper to the mount, then use 2 – M3 x 20mm Cap Screws (not included) in place of the the RPM mounting screws that come supplied with the RPM Motor Protector.

The additional mounting screws help disperse impact energy into the transmission case over more surface area, reducing the possibility of damaging the case significantly! The new RPM mount design means no more slotted parts hanging below the rear skid plate – ever! Our mount tucks up quite nicely behind the skid plate for better rear end ground clearance. Our rear bumper / wheelie bar mount fits a wide range of vehicles too. It fits all versions of the Traxxas Slash 2wd, electric Stampede, electric Rustler and Bandit including VXL, XL-5 and legacy versions. In typical RPM fashion, we don’t just make replacement parts; we make the best replacement parts possible! What sets the RPM rear bumper above all else? We started with our incredibly durable materials and created a bumper that is based off of current full-sized Short Course and Baja style rear bumpers. Full-sized rear bumpers are wide and flat and our scale version is exactly that, for the ultimate in rear-end protection. RPM rear bumpers will stop most rear impacts from affecting the truck in any negative way. Additionally, RPM rear bumpers for the Traxxas Slash weigh in at a full 9 grams (18%) lighter than the stock version! Lighter is always faster. What more could we do to make these things incredibly realistic? How about mounting points for mud flaps? That’s right; these bumpers come stock with mounting positions for RPM Mud Flaps (#81012 – available separately). Now the Slash owner can run mud flaps for ultra-realistic good looks. RPM rear bumpers for the Traxxas Slash are available in three popular color options – black, blue and chrome. RPM rear bumpers are sold with all necessary mounting hardware and complete mounting instructions. Tech Notes: This bumper will not fit the Traxxas Nitro Slash 2wd nor will it fit the Slash 4×4. Punch it off the line and TSM goes to work sensing the vehicle’s direction and making steering corrections to provide straight-ahead fullthrottle acceleration without fishtailing, spinouts, and loss of control. TSM also works during cornering, first making intuitive corrections to maintain the vehicle’s line, then hammer the throttle earlier in the turn for much faster exit speeds. Braking is dramatically improved as TSM works to keep Traxxas trucks arrow straight until they come to a complete stop. Shroud comes with a zipper, which allows to access the internals of a model i.e. connecting/disconnecting  batteries and turning a model on/off without removing a shroud. While taking a break between the running  stints the shroud can be unzipped to allow ESC and motor to cool quicker.  Shroud is made from the highest quality materials. That is why it is strong, durable and efficient. The open  area of a material is more than 50% of total shroud surface, so it ensures a very good airflow in order to  keep the model electronics cool. Shock absorber cover is included into the package. Shock absorber cover comes in one long piece, so it could be cut into lengths that particular shock absorbers require. Cover is made from elastic material in order to fit shock absorbers of different diameters. One included length of a cover will be enough for 4-8 shock absorbers, depending on a length of one.

RPM Mount for Rear Bumper or Wheelie Bar for 2WD Slash, Rustler, Stampede & Bandit - Blue Replaces Traxxas stock #3677 Quick Notes: Fits Traxxas 2WD Slash, Rustler, Stampede & Bandit Replaces Traxxas stock #3677 After hearing numerous requests to look into the rear bumper mount on the Traxxas Slash, we found several issues that could use the RPM touch. Those same problems were encountered on e-Rustler, e-Stampede & Bandit vehicles as well, using the stock wheelie bar mount. The problem – the stock mount uses only a single screw on the gear cover side to hold the mount in place. That causes a hinge effect under rear impacts causing the slotted area holding on to the rear skid plate to pop off after an impact, leaving the stock bumper / wheelie bar mount hanging under the chassis. The RPM solution… An all-new bumper mounting system that eliminates all of the problems encountered with the stock version. The RPM rear bumper / wheelie bar mount has two mounting holes on the gear cover side and three on the motor side – that’s two additional mounting points to eliminate that annoying hinge effect mentioned above. The additional mounting screws help disperse impact energy into the transmission case over more surface area, reducing the possibility of damaging the case significantly! The new RPM mount design means no more slotted parts hanging below the rear skid plate – ever! Our mount tucks up quite nicely behind the skid plate for better rear end ground clearance. Our rear bumper / wheelie bar mount fits a wide range of vehicles too. It fits all versions of the Traxxas Slash 2wd, electric Stampede, electric Rustler and Bandit including VXL, XL-5 and legacy versions. The RPM rear bumper / wheelie bar mount is molded in our nearly indestructible blend of nylons and is sold in either blue or black. Each mount comes with all necessary hardware, complete instructions for ease of installation and an industry-leading warranty to back it all up!
